The Los Angeles Lakers scouting department has been impressive for the most part in the last decade, having some potentially great players and hidden gems.

One of the most notable examples is the SG Austin Reaves, but one of the most recent two-way signed contract sophomore Cole Swider has been waived by GM Rob Pelinka after his Summer League performance.

Swider had a couple of great performances with the team, but the problem was his lack of skills, as Swider has proven that he is just a shooter, at least at the moment.

Cole didn't last long as a free agent and the Lakers have now completely lost the opportunity of keeping a sharp-shooter when they are known to lack shooting from the distance.

The Miami Heat are signing Cole Swider

The Lakers let go of Cole Swider and now the 3-point shooter has signed with the NBA finalist Miami Heat. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania “Ex-Lakers G/F Cole Swider is signing a deal with the Miami Heat, sources tell @TheAthletic, @Stadium.”
