The Lakers star advised Ja Morant in the middle of his controversy

Ja Morant is in the middle of a new controversy as the Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant has been caught on social media brandishing a gun for the second time in just the last few months.

Consequently, he has been suspended from all team activities for now. Unfortunately, Morant's immaturity has been a constant in his short NBA career, and he is getting close to throwing everything he has accomplished.

The Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell has come out and posted a tweet with some advice for anybody, but it seems aimed at Ja Morant and his current situation.

D-Lo posted on his Twitter, "If you can't change the people around you, change the people around you." Morant's multiple gun incidents have led many to question his maturity and the company that he keeps. Nowadays, with so much concern over gun violence and mass shootings, he is at risk of tarnishing his reputation and possibly getting a massive suspension from the league. That type of suspension could end up torpedoing the Grizzlies' chances next season.

Russell was criticized for lacking maturity when he started his NBA career with the Lakers. But now, in his second stint, he seems much more poised and focused, not to mention more polished and reliable regarding his on-the-court play. As a result, if his team is to reach the NBA Finals and win it all, he will likely play a very crucial role.
