The Lakers traded Nunn for Hachimura, but there is an extra price to pay

The Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James' great performances have finally paid off, as the front office has seen their superstar's effort on the court and led the team to a 22-25 record.

Yesterday the NBA world was surprised with the Lakers-Wizards trade of Kendrick Nunn, three 2nd-round draft picks for Rui Hachimura, but now it has been reported that the Lakers had to "sacrifice" another player.

The front office will no longer pursue the long-rumored wing from the New York Knicks Cam Reddish. GM Rob Pelinka has proved to have made the right choice.

"The Lakers likely could have traded for the Knicks' Cam Reddish for a similar package that they sent to Washington but opted for Hachimura, who was drafted ninth overall by the Wizards in 2019," NBA insider Marc Stein wrote.

What Hachimura can bring to the Lakers that Reddish couldn't

Hachimura has been a bit more proven of a player than Reddish in his NBA career, and he's outplayed him this season. The new Lakers forward are averaging 13.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 48.8 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from beyond the arc.
