Even when the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka is actively looking to add another big center to their last 14th roster spot, the rookie Colin Castleton is willing to put up the work and even have a body transformation to earn a spot in coach Ham's team rotation.

Christian Wood is at the top of the list of centers the Lakers are considering signing. Still, fans noticed Colin Castleton's great performances at the Summer League and believed that bulking up, the young center could have a legit shot at playing in the NBA within coach Ham's rotation as the backup big.

Recently, Castleton spoke to the Lakers Nation Trevor Lane and said that while being part of this next season rotation in coach Ham's team isn't taking his sleep, he is working on earning a spot in the group and having a chance further in the campaign.

"Yeah, 100 percent, there is always room for improvement and things to grow on. The thing for me is through this long pre-draft process; you can definitely lose strength and a little bit of weight. So, being able to get into the weight room is going to be my biggest focus right now," Castleton said. "Being able to put more muscle on, getting back stronger, which is something that I'm going to do every day, and focus on my eating habits to continue to gain weight."

Gaining weight isn't the only goal for Castleton this summer

"Then on the court, just little things, continue to do what I'm good at. Focusing on those things every single day, working on my shot, continue to extend my range, continue to feel comfortable in the mid-range. That is something that is second to none for me; I don't think about it. But, stepping out to the 3-point line and spacing the floor is something that I'm continuing to work on," said Colin
