Being the governor and owner of a sports franchise isn't easy, less is to be the owner of an NBA team and is even harder to continue the legacy and dynasty that Dr. Jerry Buss built with the LA Lakers.
The Lakers’ 2022–23 season couldn’t have tipped off in a worse way. The star-studded squad started a horrific 3–13 last year with little-to-no hope of getting into the playoffs and team owner Jeanie Buss said fans went as far as to send her death threats.
With information via The Athletic, “I was like, ‘I’m not gonna survive this,’” Said Jeanie Buss. “This is gonna be really rough. I was getting death threats.”
It was getting critical until the GM Rob Pelinka was able to pull off some incredible movements at the trade deadline and the team turned the season around. “And then the team . . . something just clicked,” said Buss.
The Los Angeles Lakers governor and owner Jeanie Buss believes Anthony Davis was the best player last season when available: "There's an argument to be made that he (Anthony Davis) was the best player in the NBA when he was playing."
