The Summer League is coming soon, and the Lakers fans are hyped with the team assembled for it, mainly because the two draft picks will have their chance to shine.
But not only Jalen Hood-Schifino and Maxwell Lewis are trying to earn a place in coach Ham's lineups, but one guard wants to show he needs more minutes with the Lakers.
Scotty Pippen Jr. almost didn't see minutes in his year in the NBA, but he shined with the South Bay Lakers; the following season, he will no longer be in a two-way contract, so he expects to earn a spot in the roster in this year's Summer League.
Coach Ham will keep an eye on the team's performance, and Pippen Jr. is one of them, even when the main player is the news drafted players, the newly signed undrafted players, and the last season's rookie Max Christie.
After the Lakers used their two picks in the 2023 NBA Draft, their signings didn't stop there, as Pelinka was able to sign in a two-way contract the center Colin Castleton who is set to be the future center of the Lakers.
