The NBA media has contradicted itself once again, after the moves pulled off by GM Rob Pelinka this summer, many said that LA had won the offseason, but now that another season is about to start in the league, many have snubbed the Lakers as their favorite candidates to win the championship and also are disrespecting their main stars.

Recently, many media outlets polled that revealed the 2023-24 NBA Most Valuable Player favorites to win the personal award, and unsurprisingly Nikola Jokic got the number one spot with 52% of the votes.

Jokic is followed by Giannis who got the 16% of the votes, while Luka got the third place with 12% with Jayson Tatum right after with 8%. Also receiving votes were LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Devin Booker.

The results show that the NBA media doesn't believe in the Lakers or their stars, especially by snubbing Anthony Davis completely. LA fans believed this year Davis would finally shut up his detractors and win a personal award.

The Lakers will again be the dark horse for the Western Conference

Despite the strong season, the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka pulled off this summer, the NBA media believe LA won't be able to end in the top 3 seed of the Western Conference. Once again, LeBron James, AD, and the Lakers are going to be the dark horses.
