The Los Angeles Lakers had a cold offseason last year, and the biggest signing of that summer was the PG Patrick Beverley, which raised many eyebrows from the fans and the NBA media. For starters because Bev had a feud with the still Laker Russell Westbrook.

But since his arrival, Pat Bev was all promises, all talk, and didn’t deliver. Bev and Westbrook were able to make amends, but Bev said at his arrival that he wasn’t going to play with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but it was going to be the other way around, AD and LeBron were the ones that were going to play with him.

Bev didn’t stop there, as he also said that his 3-point jumping shot was great and even rivaled Stephen Curry on that front, but once he started playing he failed to live up to the hype he create himself. Then at the trade deadline, Pat was traded because he didn’t deliver what he promised and played with the Bulls wanting some payback against the Lakers.

Pat wanted to eliminate the Lakers and left them without playoffs, but it didn’t work out for him. Now Bev has a new team, the Philadelphia 76ers, and is repeating his same speech, and once again could be an all-bark-no-bite repeat. Bev recently said “I can shoot that thing, so I’m excited. I’m excited to display that here.” But the Lakers fans are laughing at him and trolling Pat Bev as he has started his usual talk.

The Lakers avoided last offseason's mistakes

It seems that the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka has learned from his past mistakes and finally has found the path to win a championship title and build a strong and promising team for the future. This offseason was easily won, on paper, by LA with their 2023 NBA Draft and free agency market signings. Let’s hope the team can deliver and win the 18th championship title in the Lakers franchise history.
