For a long time, the Lakers fans have been wanting to see a specific young player on the team but he might not have the role everyone expects

The Lakers Nation has been wanting to see the young forward Cam Reddish with the purple and gold for a long time. LA's GM Rob Pelinka finally listened and signed him this offseason for a 4.5 M deal.

The fans have the hope that LeBron James, coach Darvin Ham, and his staff can be able to bring out the promising talent of the forward that has failed to 'explode' in the league and has just been a potential talent.

While the Lakers organization and the fans believe this could be Cam Reddish's breakout season in LA, coach Ham could have different plans. It has been reported that Max Christie will be Reddish main competitor and the young sophomore will be part of the rotation with more playing time.

NBA journalist has said about Reddish role next season "It’s fluid. Lakers coach Darvin Ham made clear to me that all starting positions outside of LeBron James and Anthony Davis are up for grabs. Reddish will likely be at the end of the rotation since the Lakers would favor their incumbent role players. If Reddish stays consistent with his practice habits and on-court hustle, though, Ham will grant him some minutes.”

What has interested the Lakers about Cam Reddish

“The Lakers are intrigued with Reddish’s perimeter defense. They also believe they can oversee Reddish showing more offensive consistency because of his past relationship with assistant coach Chris Jent. Yet, the Lakers are prepared for unpredictable rotations both to take advantage of matchups and hot performances.” Said Medina.
