By James Brown
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is known not only for being one of the greatest players the sport has ever seen but also for being one of the kindest off the court and for acknowledging by praising when it is due.
This time, the captain of one of the two 2023 NBA All-Star teams got to praise a former Laker, even when he didn't participate in the game but did participate in the Dunk Contest of this year and even won it.
LeBron has never participated in the Dunk Contest, in the opinion of some NBA media experts, like ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, who think that James has ruined the contest forever by making the stars lose interest in participating.
In the past, the most significant stars like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant have been part of it, but not LeBron James. This year, the former Lakers player Mac McClung, who gave an outstanding performance, took the spotlight and even has been said to have "saved" the Dunk contest.
LeBron got time to praise McClung and said: "He solidified himself as probably one of the greatest slam dunk competitors that we've had in the game's history."
