There's no doubt that 2020 will be a year that will forever be in the Lakers fan's hearts and minds, as it marked the tragic passing of one of the most beloved players in the NBA and the biggest purple and gold star: Kobe Bryant.
In their honor, the Lakers led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis were able to make proud Bryant's memory by winning that year's championship title, and one of the honors the organization gave to the black mamba was the "Mamba Edition" jerseys.
According to the Lakers reporter Spectrum SportsNet's Mike Trudell, the organization could bring back the "Mamba Edition" uniform for the next campaign.
It makes sense for two reasons, the first one is that it will be used in 2024, and the other is that the Lakers are trying to replicate as most as they can what worked in 2020 to win another championship title and they want to pay another tribute to Kobe. In 2024, Kobe's statue will be unveiled.
It seems that the Lakers are trying to do many things similar to the 2020 championship so they can win another title. They have signed a player similar to Dwight Howard in Jaxson Hayes, and another similar to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with Taurean Prince. Also, Pelinka has said they will be playing with two bigs at the same time like in the bubble.
