While many will be disappointed with not seeing the San Antonio Spurs' new rookie Victor Wembanyama, the 2023 NBA Draft No. 1 pick, making his debut tonight vs. the LA Lakers, the fans look forward to seeing what the purple and gold new players can do after their disappointing debut.

On Monday, the Lakers Summer League team debuted in the first California Classics game vs. the Miami Heat, with Jalen Hood-Schifino and Maxwell Lewis receiving some critics from the fans.

But it was just game one of a previous game before the Summer League; tonight, they have a new opportunity to bring their best game. All the Lakers rookies should look at Austin Reaves' story with the purple and gold.

Reaves teaches them a lesson in constancy by putting up the work and showing how he was undrafted to sign with LA and has worked out for both parties, now signing a four-year max extension deal for 56 million. Hood-Schifino, Lewis, Castleton, and Hodge should learn from that.

Scotty Pippen Jr. missed the first game vs. the Miami Heat

Scotty Pippen Jr., who no longer has a contract with the Lakers, is playing in the Summer League, but he had a foot injury and missed the first game. Fans are hoping he can show up tonight.
