The Los Angeles Lakers star Austin Reaves had a breakout season and now has been doing the same with Team USA in the practice games before the start of the FIBA World Cup.
Still, some doubters think Reaves didn't deserve the call to be part of this Team USA, and he has been silencing his detractors, but now the commentator Bill Simmons has created new controversy with his latest statement.
In the aftermath of the game between Team USA and Germany, Simmons took to social media to offer something of a polarizing take. “Team USA’s biggest issue for the actual tournament — accepting that Haliburton and Reaves are 2 of the best guys on the team,” Simmons wrote. “They’re gonna have to be out there in any big situation even if feelings get hurt.”
Fans took note of Simmons’ opinion and had some thoughts on it. Specifically, everyone seemed to acknowledge that Haliburton has been instrumental, but Reaves’ inclusion in the tweet was met with some resistance.
The vast majority of the fans that spoke on social media responding to Bill Simmons' comments are that Anthony Edwards is the best player on the team, and the opinions about Austin Reaves are split, some believe is a great player and others think he is overrated and only gets attention because he is a Laker.
