The Lakers had problems stopping Nikola Jokic in Game 1, but there's a player that thinks he is the only one capable of stopping him

The LA Lakers stopped Nikola Jokic in the 2020 championship bubble, and the team went to the NBA finals to have the best outcome by winning the title.

History is repeating itself by having the same four Conference finalists. Still, this time in Game 1, no Laker could stop Nikola Jokic until Rui Hachimura did it in the final quarter.

But the Purple and Gold had a player in 2020 that stopped Jokic that this time is playing in the Taiwanese Basketball League. Dwight Howard thinks he is the only one capable of defending Nikola.

Howard wrote on his Twitter, "Only one person can stop the Joker, and I ain't talking bout Batman (emoji face with shades)." While he did stop Nikola in 2020, there is a reason why he is in Taiwan playing and trying to recruit players for that League instead of staying in the NBA.

Dwight Howard did help the Lakers on stopping the Joker once

To his credit, Howard did have a measurable effect defensively when the Lakers squared off with the Nuggets during the 2020 Western Conference Finals in the bubble. In his 101 minutes on the court during that series, which the Lakers won in five games, Los Angeles conceded just 100.0 points per 100 possessions, as tracked by NBA.com. That number gave him the top defensive rating teamwide in the matchup.
