The Lakers have had a disappointing team in the last couple of years. Despite winning a championship a few seasons ago, they have been more at the bottom than at the top. A few days ago, Lakers owner Jeanie Buss argued that the team needed a change for the upcoming season, to avoid being out of the playoffs again.
During an interview for USA Today, Buss argued about the disappointment of last season. "You can't possibly contend for a championship if you're not even in the playoffs. So we made some changes. And, you know, I think changes needed to be made."
It's not going to be easy to trade Russell Westbrook to the Jazz

Now former player Jalen Rose defended the comments made by Buss, by arguing that some players on the Lakers roster and in the whole NBA there are players that aren't giving their best throughout the whole season. And that's why a change was a good decision.
“And as somebody like her that's been around the game for whatever, she's seen the game go from players having pride in playing 80 to 82 games a year to players realizing they can play 60 to 65 games, get the same money and elongate their careers to make more money longer,” commented Jalen Rose.
So far, the Lakers have added Patrick Beverley through a trade. And signed some young players. However, the movement that has raised the most eyebrows, is keeping Russell Westbrook on the Lakers.
