While the NBA media keep selling the narrative that the Lakers should parts ways from the big player, GM Rob Pelinka has secured Anthony Davis until 2028 by signing him with a max extension for three years and 186 million.
AD has proven that he is one of the best players in the NBA, despite not being named All-Star in the recent season or haven't won the MVP award or even DOY.
For all the talk about Anthony Davis’ offense and lack of consistency, he averaged 26 points last season, up from 23 and 22 in his prior two seasons despite averaging the SAME number of attempts (17). He did this while grabbing a career-high 12.5 boards, a career-high 56% FG AND decreasing his minutes compared to the prior year.
Oh, and he’s the best defensive player in the league. Fair to be worried about injuries but the doubters and detractors should stop the “not worth a max” nonsense.
Almost every year Anthony Davis gets criticized for not putting up enough work to stay healthy, but this offseason, the star has surprised every fan with the pictures released by the Lakers' official Twitter account where he is at the gym lifting weights and looking massive.
