The Los Angeles Lakers want to strengthen their roster after making it into the Western Conference Finals. The team is building chemistry and culture and thinks they have a real shot if they start with this group since training camp as opposed to last season when they were together after the trade deadline.

But they are looking for a significant upgrade in their backcourt, as guards like D'Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley didn't make a difference in the playoffs.

Two big names have been rumored to land in LA, Bradley Beal and Chris Paul, but with a single trade between the Suns and the Wizards, Pelinka and the Lakers could lose both.

With information by NBA insider Shams Charania: "Developing: Washington is in serious talks with two finalists – Miami and Phoenix – on a Bradley Beal trade, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The Suns have emerged as a severe threat to Beal, who holds a no-trade clause." If a trade is occurring between the two teams, it could be with Paul and Beal.

The Lakers plan on keeping D'Angelo Russell and teaming him up with CP3

According to Lakers insider Jovan Buha, the Lakers are interested in signing the 38-year-old vet PG Chris Paul if the Suns waive him, having planned to pair him with Russell to have a strong backcourt.
