The Lakers usually get involved in rumors when an NBA player becomes a free agent, and it started that way with one of the recent league champions from the Denver Nuggets, the Wing Bruce Brown Jr.
But earlier today, it gained traction that the Lakers are interested in signing Brown Jr., as they will be offering around 12.4 million per year now that they have waived Mo Bamba and declined the team option for Malik Beasley.
The bad news is that Bruce could be using the Lakers just as leverage to get the most he cans from the Nuggets and re-sign with them, as his current teammate Jamal Murray believes it is a fact Brown Jr. will be returning to Denver for next year.
“We always talk about once we win, everybody will eat, everybody gets taken care of. We’re starting to see that with Bruce [Brown] and his extension, so congrats to him." Said Jamal Murray on Bruce Brown’s upcoming free agency.
According to the new reports, the Dallas Mavericks will also be contending with the Lakers and Denver to sign the recent NBA champion wing Bruce Brown starting his free agency tomorrow.
