While the Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant scored 39 points against the LA Lakers this Thursday night, he was unstoppable for the first three quarters until in the last quarter Christian Wood guarded him.
Wood was the Lakers' last significant signing in the offseason, the fans immediately went on word with the organization acquiring him, despite many detractors saying his defensive game is lousy.
Christian was able to prove them wrong, at least for one game, with the incredible task of stopping not other than the superstar Kevin Durant who has been called unguardable by many, including Austin Reaves.
“Just them trusting me, it was a big assignment… Making things tough for him was big for me.” Christian Wood speaks on guarding Kevin Durant at a pivotal moment in the game.
