Messi is on top of the world after winning the cup in Qatar, and FIFA paid him some special respect with an expensive gift

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is often considered the GOAT of the NBA, even when he is mostly placed under Michael Jordan. So far, the league hasn't shown any distinctive respect for the forward as FIFA did with Messi.

Messi won the world cup with Argentina, and everyone was happy as he finally won the only trophy he was missing. Of course, being a FIFA favorite, it was expected that they would give him a unique and different distinction and a gift they hadn't shared before with any other soccer player.

Being Qatar, the host of the world cup, the ceremony, FIFA, and Qatar gave Messi a BISHT, an expensive traditional men's cloak popular in that country. The one that Messi received has a price tag of around 1,200 dollars.

While LeBron hasn't received anything similar, he could get some NBA distinction after winning a new championship title or later this season when he breaks Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's most-scored points record.

LeBron James needs another championship title or two to become the GOAT

Most people that have Michael Jordan as the GOAT debate that he has two more championships than LeBron. If James can take a shorter stance, there is no doubt he could become the unquestionable NBA's GOAT.
