This is how Kareem, Magic, and LeBron himself reacted to the new scoring record

It was a historic night for the Lakers, especially for LeBron James, who, even when the team suffered a new loss, could accomplish a new milestone, one that seemed impossible as it had been unbreakable for 39 years until now.

And the different reactions started to come; one of the first ones came from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the Lakers legend that was the one with the record until James broke it tonight. Kareem said, "What LeBron has done off the court is more important than what he's done on the court."

Magic Johnson, Kareem's former teammate with the Lakers showtime era, said to LeBron, "I never thought that anybody would break Kareem's scoring record, but that says how special you are."

Coach Darvin Ham also spoke about LeBron and losing the game tonight "A lot of times, the attention was all about trying to get Bron the record as opposed to just playing natural basketball... We just had too many mistakes. Our turnovers really, really hurt us tonight."

What LeBron said about breaking the record

LeBron said he's still at the "apex" of his game at age 38 and also said that he can help any franchise win multiple championships, even at his age. James spoke about the GOAT debate, "I'm going to take myself against anybody that's ever played this game. … I always feel like I'm the best ever to play this game."
