2022 saw Messi earning more money than LeBron and CR7, but 2023 is looking to be the year for Ronaldo with the jaw-dropping salary coming for him

The year 2022 just ended, and the Argentinan world cup champion Messi became the highest-grossing athlete in the world with a total of 130 Million, of which 75 Million comes from his salary at the PSG, 55 Million from his field earnings from his sponsors, and investments.

LeBron James was the second highest-earner athlete in the world with a total of 121.2 Million, of which 41.2 Million came from the Los Angeles Lakers, and the vast majority of his paycheck went out of his intelligent investments and sponsors, a total of 80 Million.

The third highest-paid athlete in the world is the Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who earned 60 Million from Manchester United and 55 Million from his investments and sponsors for a total of 115 Million.

But this just starting the year 2023, will see a massive shake-up as CR7 just signed with the Saudi Arabia Football Club Al-Nassr with a massive paycheck, as he is set to become the highest-earner as he will be getting 200 Million just on his salary. Ronaldo will be earning around 260 Million this year, about 100 Million more than Messi did.

LeBron James will also be seeing his salary to be increased

In the latter part of 2022, the Lakers star signed an extension contract with Los Angeles and will see an increase in his salary of about 6.3 Million per year. It still won't be enough, as CR7 will earn around 100 Million more than Messi and 125 Million more than the purple and gold star.
