The Los Angeles Lakers are still in the battle to make it into the postseason and wasted an opportunity to grow the .500 mark they recently achieved, only to lose it after one game.
The team is still in the Play-In tournament zone, currently in the 9th position; they fell one spot after the loss and are now tied again with the OKC Thunder record-wise.
With the loss, the hopes of avoiding the Play-In tournament and just advancing straight into the playoffs start to fade away, as at this pace, the team is more probable to capture either the No. 7 or No. 8 seed.
LeBron James' return to the court wasn't as expected and hurt the team more as the team felt different regarding previous games as he was out of rhythm, even when he played coming off the bench.
