One way to convince LeBron James to stay for at least another season after his retirement comments in the post-game presser in a Game 4 loss vs. the Nuggets is to reunite him in LA with Kyrie Irving.
For the front office to be able to keep the core of the team and bring Kyrie Irving won't be an easy task, but it's possible. The math on Kyrie is that LeBron James has a 46.9 million salary, while AD 40.6 million, Kyrie will have around 35 million, Reaves 13 million, Rui Hachimura 12 Million, Vanderbilt 4.7 Million, Max Christie 1.7 Million.
Also, the team could have seven vet mins that would be around 14 million. That totals $167.9M, just below the $169M hard cap induced by the S&T. It Would require the Mavs to sign Dlo and take one of Beasley or Bamba.
It, of course, will depend on Dallas wanting to make a trade and get rid of one of their superstars and get players that didn't live up to the hype generated by the trade deadline.
The re-signing of Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura should be the top priority for the Lakers' front office this offseason, along with convincing LeBron James to stay for at least another season. Reaves and Rui had their first-ever conference finals and had these numbers:
Austin Reaves — 21.3 PPG | 5.3 APG | 55% FG | 56% 3PT
Rui Hachimura — 15.3 PPG | 3.8 RPG | 53% FG
