Since the Lakers got swept by the Denver Nuggets, GM Rob Pelinka and Coach Ham have been working on planning the next season; they are building the roster in mind keeping most of the players to continue developing chemistry and culture.
But some players will be leaving the team, as Pelinka still thinks some upgrades are needed to build a contending team for next season, as the current campaign that just ended, the team failed to accomplish the ultimate goal of winning the NBA championship title.
The Lakers have already made Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura restricted free agents, as both players are the team's top priority. Still, Ham and Pelinka could be trading or letting go of one shooting guard, Malik Beasley.
Beasley failed to meet the expectations set on him, even when he got different opportunities, and Ham got tired of waiting for the guard to recover his best shooting percentage. Malik could be leaving as there are no reports of Pelinka wanting to re-sign the SG.
The Lakers have until tomorrow to decide what to do with Beasley and Mo Bamba; with the current free agency market not having enough quality centers available, as Naz Reid already re-sign with the Timberwolves, Mo could be staying for another season with the team.
