The Lakers are building their team for the next season, and one player who tried to trash-talk the NBA legend LeBron James backfired on him

In the recent playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers faced the Western Conference second seed in the first round, the Memphis Grizzlies, a young and powerful team, but were able to defeat them in six games.

But the series was a lesson to the then Grizzlies star Dillon Brooks, who trash-talked LeBron James in the two games that his team won, especially after Game 2 of the series; Brooks said that LeBron James was old, basically that he was finished and Memphis was going to win, but the Lakers and King James defeated them.

Funny enough, the Grizzlies almost immediately made public their desire not to want Dillon in their team roster, and once the free agency market started, it was revealed the Lakers and Brooks were going to meet.

Apparently, to some reports, after Brooks disrespected LeBron, he wanted to be part of the purple and gold, but it didn't work out for him to be part of the LA team, and instead, the Houston Rockets signed him to an 80 million contract.

LeBron James will never have approved of Brooks signing with the Lakers

The meeting was a mere formality, as the Lakers star LeBron James wanted to avoid playing alongside Dillon, who not only disrespected him but also is known to have an attitude problem.
