Two of the greatest players in the Lakers didn't get along well most of the time but were able to pass their difference to something greater and it paid off as Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant won three back-to-back championships together.

The greatness of those two talented players is something the former Laker and champion with the purple and gold Ty Lue saw during his time as the LA Clippers assistant coach in Chris Paul and Blake Griffin.

“I think the biggest thing for me, it was CP and Blake…. two great players, and it reminded me a lot of Kobe and Shaq,” Lue stated on ‘All The Smoke’ podcast. “They were young at the time, and so, I bet they look back on it right now, Blake and CP, if they look back on it now, they'd be like, ‘You know what, we coulda.’ It was special, very special. Two talented players. Two great players. And that was the biggest thing. When your two best players don’t really get along and take that next step together, it’s kinda hard.”

The best example to use, in Lue's opinion, is the duo of Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant. While the pair did reflect on how their relationship suffered as a result of being alpha males, they also have three consecutive championships to show off for their time together.

Tye Lue refused to rank MJ, Kobe, and LeBron James

Lue has had an interesting NBA career both as a player and as a coach. Ty was able to play with Michael Jordan, was a teammate with Kobe Bryant, and the coach of the LeBron James champion Cavs, still, when asked about ranking them, he simply responded "No."
