Before the game, it was said that the shorthanded Los Angeles Lakers had to find a way to stop Tyrese Maxey, as he has been one of the best players for the Philadelphia 76ers alongside Joel Embiid, and coach Ham wasn't going to have his perimeter defenders as Rui Hachimura, Cam Reddish and Jarred Vanderbilt are all out.
The Lakers didn't have a plan and coach Ham wasn't able to make his players stop Maxey who became the best player of the night scoring 31 points with 5/12 from 3.
Ham's only excuse was that Maxey was too good for his team to stop as the Lakers head coach said: "Trying to contain Tyrese Maxey is like trying to contain a Lamborghini."
Maxey may have destroyed the LA Lakers but he showed respect to LeBron James as he said: “When I walked in, he was in a full sweat. I said, ‘What are you doing?’ He was like, ‘I can’t let you beat me to the gym.’ And I was like, ‘You’re insane.’”
James became the league's all-time leader in minutes played during the Los Angeles Lakers' 138-94 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. Taking into account both regular-season and postseason games, James has now played 66,319 minutes in his career, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's total of 66,297 minutes.
