By James Brown
The Los Angeles Lakers franchise has one of the greatest and rich histories in the NBA, as some of the best basketball players have played for the team and had some of the great duos, from Magic Johnson with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
The most famous and celebrated one is the duo of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal, that dominated the NBA and got three back-to-back championship titles for the team.
On this day 23 years ago, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal overcame a 15-point deficit in the 4th quarter to lead the Lakers past the Blazers in Game 7 of the WCF. The rest is history.
To this day, the Lakers fans remember what that amazing duo was capable of, as both legends remain in the top 10 of the franchise. Kobe is constantly regarded as the greatest LA Laker of all time, even over Magic Johnson.
Kobe's greatness made him compatible with more than one big player. After the Bryant-O'Neal era, years later, big Spanish player Pau Gasol came to LA, and both players dominated and won two back-to-back championships together.
