One of the players that helped the Lakers to change things from being a disaster to not only making it into the playoffs but even to the Western Conference Finals was D'Angelo Russell.
Still, D-Lo performances in the postseason didn't meet the expectations of the fans who have been hard on the Lakers PG to the point that the organization stopped offering him the max extension and signed him for a two-year 37 million instead.
The backlash that Russell has been receiving has maddened ESPN's analyst Stephen A. Smith who has now sent a message to the fans as he believes that D-Lo is undervalued.
Smith thinks D'Angelo should receive more money from the Lakers as he is one of the best PG's in the league and not only helped the team in the past season to course-correct things but will help in their pursuit of a new title in the next campaign.
D'Angelo Russell has gotten some important competition as the newest Lakers PG Gabe Vincent is set to battle for the starting role in the upcoming training camp.
