The Los Angeles Lakers went to Oklahoma City following a four-game losing streak, and they wanted to change things to get the win, as they had a 1-5 record following their win of the IST.
Coach Darvin Ham decided to shift things and in a bold move, he sent D'Angelo Russell to have a coming-off-the-bench role, as he had a new starting five lineup without any guards, as he had LeBron James, Cam Reddish, Jarred Vanderbilt, Anthony Davis and Taurean Prince on the court.
With that new lineup, LA’s third-, fourth- and fifth-highest-paid players (D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, and Austin Reaves, in that order) are all coming off the bench now.
Austin Reaves has been great lately, still, coach Darvin Ham has kept him with a coming off the bench role and D'Angelo Russell will also be coming off the bench. It is unknown if this starting five will be repeated in the Christmas match against the Boston Celtics.
Gabe Vincent hasn't been able to fully recover and the team's rumors of looking for a trade for Zach LaVine or another Point Guard continue, especially now that D'Angelo Russell has a coming off the bench role.
