After 10 games in the season, the Los Angeles Lakers had become one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the league, which was a major disappointment for the fans after the preseason the group had that promised a different kind of campaign in that area.
With players back like Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and D'Angelo Russell and the incorporations of Taurean Prince, Christian Wood, and Gabe Vincent the team was set to have great 3-point shooting, but with some players out due to injuries, plus some underperformances, the team became the worst 3-point shooter.
For the second In-Season Tournament game, the Lakers team came after winning two games in a row, improving and having some of their players back and some still out, LeBron James missed the game vs. Portland but returned this Tuesday to face the Grizzlies.
With all the scenarios set, the Lakers, the worst 3-point shooting team in the NBA just had the greatest 3-point shooting game ever. The Lakers shot 62.9% from three, the highest 3-PT FG% in a game with at least 35 attempts in NBA history.
Despite not being on the best start of the season with serious struggles in rebounds, 3-point shooting (until Tuesday's night game vs. Memphis), and injuries, the team is starting to look great, to be having fun, supporting each other, and having the kind of chemistry that NBA champion teams usually have.
