Kobe's widow Vanessa has settled with LA County, amounting to a total of 28.8 million, according to her lawyer, who says this resolves both Vanessa's original complaint and subsequent award and any potential future claims from her surviving daughters.

Vanessa's lawyer, Luis Li, says, "Today marks the culmination of Mrs. Bryant's courageous battle to hold accountable those who engaged in this grotesque conduct." He adds, "She fought for her husband, her daughter, and all those in the community whose deceased family were treated with similar disrespect. We hope her victory at trial and this settlement will end this practice."
