One of the most consistent players for LA was the German point guard Dennis Schroder, who, even when he had some discrete performances, always helped the team and gave his best, especially in clutch time.
Schroder entered his 2nd stint with the Lakers with a sense of revenge for not ending things the right way in the past, and now he is willing to stay longer.
After having a couple of weeks off with his family, Schroder is thinking of staying fit and ready for coach Darvin Ham in case he is in plans for the team to the next campaign.
To do that, he will be wearing the German national team jersey one more time for the FIBA World Cup.
“I am going to take off a week or two weeks now to spend time with family because they have been sacrificing so much,” Schroder said. “Just them being there for me. My wife doing everything for me so that I can be at my highest level of playing. I did not see my kids too much, so I am going to take one or two weeks off to go on vacation with them. Then I will go back to Germany and see my family and friends there. A couple of weeks later, the training camp starts for the World Cup. I want to play for sure. I cannot wait to write another historic summer. It would be crazy for me, Germany, and the Federation itself. I am ready for it.”
