The Los Angeles Lakers have been changing their mind about D'Angelo Russell, as they wanted first to offer him a max extension with what they saw of him before the regular season ended.

After the purple and gold got swept by the Nuggets, the team dropped the idea of the max extension, considered re-signing him to trade, and got an upgrade from him.

But now that Chris Paul can be waived from the Phoenix Suns, according to information by Lakers insider Jovan Buha, GM Rob Pelinka is considering keeping D-Lo and signing the Suns' experienced PG vet.

"Another option the Lakers have discussed is signing Paul and retaining D'Angelo Russell to truly solidify their point guard position, according to those sources." Said Buha.

Chris Paul wants to stay in the Phoenix Suns

While the Phoenix Suns are thinking of trading CP3 or waiving him, the PG still wants to stay in the Suns, making it a more challenging task for LA to land him in the offseason.
