The Los Angeles Lakers battled against the No. 1 seed, the Denver Nuggets, but it wasn't enough, and they were swept off in the Western Conference Finals.
The front office led by GM Rob Pelinka has been rumored to be interested in pursuing Kyrie Irving, even when it was reported that they were happy with D'Angelo Russell. Still, after the playoffs, that has changed.
But the twist is that while Pelinka will be looking to sign a new Point Guard, Kyrie Irving isn't his top choice; with information via NBA insider Jovan Buha, the Lakers are interested in pursuing the Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young.
With LeBron James' cryptic message after the loss, his retirement is becoming something that could come earlier than expected, and the team will be avoiding Kyrie and betting on the future with Trae Young.
With Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura being some of the best players for the team these playoffs, the Lakers front office will be looking to bet for a younger roster if they decide to sign Trae Young.
