While the LA Lakers currently with a winning record of 10-8 and have advanced to the knockout round of the In-Season tournament undefeated, not everything has been easy for the team that bet on continuity and supposedly had some upgrades.
18 games in the season, four former Lakers are showing they Lakers shouldn't have let them walk away, especially two of them Dennis Schröder, Malik Beasley, Troy Brown Jr., and Lonnie Walker are killing it this season.
Out of the four former Lakers players, GM Rob Pelinka and head coach Darvin Ham wanted to re-sign Dennis Schröder but weren't close to what the Toronto Raptors offered him, a 2 year $26 million deal, despite the fact he was worth it, instead, LA signed Gabe Vincent a three year $33 million contract, but he has been out most of the season at the moment due to a knee injury.
The other player the Lakers are truly missing is Lonnie Walker, as his 3-point shooting is what the team needs now that they have become one of the worst in the league in that area.
Jarred Vanderbilt is yet away from making his debut with LA this season, as he hasn't been available in 18 games, while Gabe Vincent was on three to miss the rest of the games at the moment due to a knee injury. Rui Hachimura has been out on two separate occasions, and the rest of the team has been in and out, coach Darvin Ham hasn't been able to have his starting five for the season.
