Everyone is different at parenting; LeBron James wants to secure his son's helping future in the NBA, and he has been talking about them and hyping them up, even allowing them to sign NIL deals, but Shaquille thinks. Differently, he doesn't care or acts like he doesn't care.
When interviewed about his kid Shareef playing high school basketball, this is what Shaq said on the matter: "He's perfect, he's better than I was at the age of 16, but I don't put a lot of pressure on him, and I just tell him, go have fun, if you wanna be a professional basketball player I can show you how to get there, but if he doesn't make it, it's not like it's gonna be the worst thing in the world, so I don't put any pressure on my kids."
"Only pressure I put on them is to go to school and make yourself educated," said Shaquille. As opposed to what LeBron has been doing, putting all the pressure on his sons as they have to live up to the hype "The King" has created around them.
It is not easy for any son to step out of the father's shadow, especially if they had some of the most significant NBA careers in all its history like LeBron has been doing and Shaquille O'Neal did.
LeBron James' son Bronny played on Monday night against Carmelo Anthony's son. Bronny James and Sierra Canyon took out the W on their home floor, edging Kiyan Anthony and Christ the King, 62-51. Bronny finished with 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists in the win, showcasing his effortless athleticism and finishing at the rim. In comparison, Kiyan recorded 10 points in the loss, shining from beyond the arc with the signature Anthony family jump shot.
