Jalen Hood-Schifino may have been the 2023 NBA Draft first pick of the Lakers, but another rookie is stealing the spotlight

The Los Angeles Lakers had the first round, No. 17 overall pick in the recent 2023 NBA Draft, which they used to get the guard Jalen Hood-Schifino.

Hood-Schifino was the standout in the first week of training camp according to his teammates and the Lakers head coach Darvin. Many of them spoke highly of Jalen, but in the two first preseason games, the rookie left a lot to be desired.

In 15 minutes of playing time, Maxwel Lewis stole the attention from his teammate Jalen Hood-Schifino and scored 10 points, 4/5 FG, and 2/3 from three with two rebounds and one assist.

Jalen had a discrete night, compared to what Lewis was able to do, as he scored zero points, and had one rebound and four assists.
