Coach Darvin Ham had his starting five against the Phoenix Suns with D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Taurean Prince, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis, showing this is going to be his starting five for the regular season.

Ham also said he was going to use for the first three-quarters of their regular rotation, even though Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Jalen Hood-Schifino are out due to injuries.

For the Phoenix Suns, their new head coach Frank Vogel said they were going to do the same but didn't as he gave rest to Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, with Kevin Durant being his only superstar on the court.

It seems both coaches have a different approach and strategy ahead of their real game in a week. Essentially, Phoenix gets a look at the real  Lakers, minus rotation players Vincent and Vando, without giving LA the same, as Booker and Beal are out.

Coach Darvin Ham's strategy is to keep building chemistry

Frank Vogel and coach Ham have just shown two different approaches for their strategy ahead of their next week's game. Vogel is studying his rival and not giving away their game while coach Ham wants his starting five and main rotation to keep getting on point and develop chemistry.
