The Los Angeles Lakers have a rough road ahead of them before the next season starts, as they are about to build around the current team's roster, which was able to make it into the Western Conference Finals.
One player set to get a max extension contract was D'Angelo Russell after what he could pull off since arriving in LA at the end of the regular season, but his postseason run wasn't as good as expected.
Because of that, the Lakers changed their mind and are now considering re-signing D-Lo for a trade in search of an upgrade to contend for the championship title the following year.
But nothing has happened yet, and the Phoenix Suns are ready to pursue him now that they are willing to trade their PG, Chris Paul. There's no doubt that Phoenix could use D-Lo well, as the Lakers still need to make up their minds.
Some names set to replace Russell are Trae Young, Fred VanVleet, Chris Paul, and Bradley Beal. But if nothing gets done soon, they could lose all of them, even D'Angelo Russell.
