Who did it best? Victor Wembanyama's vs. LeBron's rookie year after 21 NBA games

The hype that surrounded LeBron James before making the jump to the NBA was incredibly high, the most impressive thing was that not only the now Lakers superstar lived up to the hype but even surpassed them.

Since then, hype hasn't been as high with another prospect that was about to enter the league, until Victor Wembanyama came out, the comparisons started immediately and even some in the media were saying that the young star was ahead of how LeBron was at that age, one of them being ESPN's Brian Windhorst who is known to be following the LA superstar since his high-school years.

Now that 21 games have happened for the San Antonio Spurs rookie in the NBA, despite his team having an 18-losing streak, he is pointing to becoming the rookie of the year, even when he has some strong competition.

But how is Wemby faring against LeBron James' rookie year? After 21 games in his rookie year, the Spurs player has been averaging 18.8 PPG, .431 FG%, 10.6 RPG, 2.81, BPG, 30.4 MPG while LeBron James averaged 16.5 PPG, .401 FG%, 6.8 RPG, 0.73 BPG, 39.8 MPG. At the moment seems that Wemby is doing better than what LeBron James did, at least for the first 21 games, but only time will tell which side of NBA history Wembanyama will be sitting in the future.

Victor Wembanyama spoke on how AD used to inspire him

"It’s a great experience. He’s somebody I’ve studied a little bit in the past. Great player of course, and I’m glad I’m going to be able to play so many more times against him." AD had 37 and 10 rebounds while Wemby had 30 and 13. Both will see each other this Friday night as both teams will play against each other again.
