By James Brown
The Los Angeles Lakers had a great offseason in the free agency market, getting some impressive depth and talent; also, thanks to the 2023 NBA Draft, they have some potentially great players for their future; still, the team keeps relying heavily on their two main superstars.
Anthony Davis and LeBron James are not only the face of the Lakers, they have already won a championship title in the 2020 bubble, and while LeBron is 38 years old, he continues to be a great player.
James won yesterday the ESPY for the best breaking-record performance of the year, ahead of other legendary athletes like Max Verstappen, Novak Djokovic, and Mikaela Shiffrin.
LeBron excited and thrilled the fans with his speech and his epic not retiring announcement, but still, according to ESPN's Kendrick Perkins, he is no longer capable of leading the Lakers to win another championship title.
According to Perkins, LeBron could be in AD's shadow, as the "Brow" is the difference maker; James still being a valuable player, but with 38, to turn 39 in the next season, he can put an entire team over his shoulders anymore, Davis can and should. For Kendrick, the Lakers will go as far as Anthony Davis can take them in the next campaign.
