Despite the Los Angeles Lakers having D'Angelo Russell, who has been a great playmaker for the team when LeBron isn't, the rumors haven't stopped after NBA insider Jovan Buha revealed the team is interested in targeting one of the Bulls's DeRozan, LaVine, and Caruso.
With recent reports by The Athletic's Shams Charania that have the Chicago Bulls and Zach LaVine interested in moving forward with a trade for the point guard, many believe the Lakers are close to making a move.
Reality is otherwise, as Charania says it, a move for LaVine would require the Lakers to move many pieces because of the Bulls' PG salary, and the team doesn't have any players available for a trade at the moment.
"The thing about LaVine though he's in year 2 of a 5-year, $250 million deal...you need multiple salaries." Said Charania, which is problematic for LA and it doesn't make sense to dismantle the team's depth for just one player.
With the Lakers needing a player that could bring the necessary energy to the defensive end and being a fan-favorite, the fanbase wants Alex Caruso back, and the rumors have LA thinking of it. Still, the same problem arises, which players could be traded for Caruso's return? At the moment there aren't.
