The Lakers finally started to make some moves during this offseason as they traded two young players to the Utah Jazz in exchange for all-NBA defensive player Patrick Beverley. Now with this move, a possible Russell Westbrook trade becomes more likely. According to an NBA executive, there are three places where he can land.
The Lakers have tried to trade Russell Westbrook since the end of last season. The most notorious offer the Purple and Gold made, was sending him to Brooklyn in exchange for all-star Kyrie Irving. However, that didn't pay off, and now they are looking for other teams to trade the former MVP.

According to Eric Pincus from Bleacher Report, "one NBA executive, the Lakers have three remaining "obvious" partners they should pursue to make a Westbrook swap for the Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs or Utah Jazz," as the Lakers no longer want to have an all-star player on their roster, and prefer to bring new starters.
The Indiana Pacers still look like the biggest landing spot as the Lakers are interested in bringing the Pacers duo of Myles Turner and Buddy Hield. However, the team's front office is still in doubt about trading away their first round picks from 2027 and 2029.
It definitely seems like the Lakers are trying to trade Russell Westbrook right away, especially after they brought Patrick Beverley, who not only plays the same position but has a bad beef with Westbrook.
